Coworking in Vernon: 2026 review

I just finished rebuilding the Cowork Vernon website. I also noticed we hadn’t published a blog post in a while, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to write an update for everybody.

A community pays dividends

Marco, Morgan, Daryl, and I are the four members who have been here since the beginning in 2014. Whenever we figure out how long this place has been around (12 years!), we can’t believe it.

Over those years, about 45 different members have passed through these doors, and we usually have 10–15 active members at a time.

I usually show up around 9:30am, and I’m greeted with a “good morning” from Ben, Greg, Daryl, Marco, Morgan, Liam, Elly, Or, Christian, Nathan, Yuri, Bas, and whoever else is in the office that day.

It’s hard to put into words how much life this place gives me. Being around good people gives you energy. Lately, we’ve had some younger members join us (in their 20s!!!), and their curiosity, their different way of seeing the world, and their eagerness to grow in their careers have been inspiring.

Recently, my friend Mario was visiting from California, and it was neat to see how easily he slipped into our group. There’s a daily fabric here (conversations, going for lunch, asking each other questions, joking around in the kitchen) that makes this place feel special.

So much of what happens here has nothing to do with work, but that’s the part that gives our work more purpose. For years now, we’ve also hosted Geek Beers on the last Thursday of every month at the pubs across the street (originally Silver Star Brewing, and now The Kal).

When we started this place, we wanted to cultivate a community of tech workers, builders, and remote workers: people doing and building interesting things. I think we’ve done that.

Cheers to another year!
